Picture a Sunday morning in the mountains: grandparents and toddlers, lifelong musicians and first-time visitors, all singing the same truth in the same room. That is what we’re after. Worship at Ashe Alliance centers on magnifying the person and work of our great God as one body — through congregational singing, the reading of Scripture, prayer, and mutual encouragement.
We believe worship is for God’s glory, not our self-expression. We value songs that exalt Christ, teach Scripture, and shape the affections of the heart toward reverence, awe, and joy in God. Our gatherings reflect a blended worship style, aiming to unify the generations under a shared vision of worship as a response to truth.
To support the mission of Ashe Alliance by leading our congregation in Christ-centered, Biblically-grounded, servant-hearted worship — through corporate and private worship focused on the Triune God.

Two ways to serve.
Whether your gift is a voice, an instrument, or a good eye and steady hands behind the soundboard, there is a place for you in this ministry.
Audio Visual Team
The AV team makes sure our sound and slides serve the congregation well — advancing slides through announcements, worship, and the sermon, and adjusting the soundboard in real time for the room and for those joining online. Membership at Ashe Alliance is not required; this is a great way to serve while learning the heart of our church.

- Our Worship Leader will reach out to schedule a time to meet and hear about your interest.
- Come to a rehearsal to learn our AV equipment and how the team functions each week.
- Once you’re comfortable, you’ll be added to the serving schedule through Planning Center.
Front Team
The Front Team leads the congregation from the platform — playing instruments, singing, reading Scripture, and praying each Sunday. Because leading God’s people carries real responsibility, we ask that Front Team members hold membership at Ashe Alliance and have been attending for at least six months.
- Fill out the Worship Team interest form below.
- Meet with our Worship Leader and several established team members — you’ll be asked to sing or play during this meeting.
- If it’s a good fit, attend two rehearsals to observe how the team prepares, and you may be invited to sing or play with the group.
- When you and the Worship Leader agree you’re ready, you’ll be added to the Sunday schedule through Planning Center.
Commitments & expectations.
Serving on the Worship Team is a joy — and a real commitment. Here is what we ask of everyone who serves, and what you can expect from our Worship Leader.
Team member commitments
- Pursue your personal relationship with Jesus, staying consistent in personal prayer and time in the Scriptures.
- View your role as a way to coach and lead the congregation in praising God well through music.
- Set the atmosphere of worship through authentic expression of praise to the Lord, in all humility.
- Respond to service requests in Planning Center in a timely manner — no later than Tuesday of the scheduled week.
- Attend Thursday night rehearsal at 6:45pm when scheduled for Sunday service.
- Be prepared musically before rehearsals and Sunday services.
- Arrive at 8:00am on Sunday mornings, prepared to worship.
- Seek to be an uplifting, encouraging member of the team, avoiding self-seeking and self-exalting attitudes and preferences.
What to expect from our Worship Leader
- Schedules volunteers in advance for each Sunday through Planning Center, ensuring all roles are filled.
- Commits to caring for, encouraging, and developing Worship Ministry team members — as individuals and as a team.
- Establishes and maintains ministry policies, worship guidelines, and resources for team development.
- Encourages song selections that are theologically rich, Christ-exalting, Scripture-rooted, and that prepare hearts for the preaching of God’s Word.
- Maintains the ministry budget and seeks to meet the needs and requests of members as they arise.
Opportunities for children & youth.
We believe in blending all generations in service — and that includes the Worship Ministry. Because of the responsibility the Worship Team carries, front-leading participants must be at least 16. But we want children and youth to actively participate in the church, so here is how those gifts get nurtured along the way.

Our children recently sang at Family Worship, and we’d love to make that a regular rhythm. Sign up for Children’s Ministry emails to hear about these opportunities.
AV Team — slides
Students with an interest in technology can serve on the AV team running slides. It takes focus for the whole service — so when possible, we’ll have someone cover the sermon portion of the 11:00 service so students can attend youth group.
Front Team
At 16, students who are church members can complete the worship interest form, interview, and audition to join the front-leading Worship Team.
We’ll update church members as further opportunities become available for our children and youth.
